A Special Entry dedicated to W300: Part I

Hello everyone!!! Wondering by now who else is still reading michelle-ism.... haha... it is growing spiderwebs all around along with all the nonsense spam in my tagboard.



Sorry for being sooooooooo lazy in updating. I am more of a writer than a blogger in a sense I dun blog about my daily events in my life.

SO, if I can wait like 1 year + for Harry Potter, you can wait a few months for more of my "wisdom".



Well, it is time for a new entry!! (and hopefully more new ones in the near future??)

And what better to update than to update on Christmas Day itself?!?



However this time, this entry is specially dedicated to my dear members in W300, who also are the most faithful readers even when I am not blogging...hee hee.



So if you are not from my CG, probably this entry will not be applicable to you... so stay tuned to my next post on "New Mind, New Man".

My Members (discussed not in any form of order)



1) Elaine

She is a very capable person who makes things happen.

Many times people may think she is a kanchiong spider, but what I personally feel is that she takes things seriously and aspire to give her very best in whatever she does.

AND I believe this is the reason many laid back people (sometimes myself included) will feel threatened by her enthusiasm.



Personally, I feel that she will be a great leader in future and I pray that I'll be the one to help her achieve this dream :)



2) Jiasheng

Man of all Men - Jiasheng aka the "Most Wanted"

He is one of the most underrated person I ever known. Hidden behind this kind and "gentle" looking individual is a sweet, funny (lame) and passionate young man who knows exactly how he feels and what he wants..... esp when he first responded to the altar call.

I knew from then that this young man will give all out for Jesus Christ.



But it had been a quiet (except for one minor hiccup) 2 years for Jiasheng until second half of 2007.

God has spoken to me about getting Jiasheng to do more important things in the CG and I was very excited when I made that phone call to have a chat with him.

He had a great attitude and somehow I felt this time, Jiasheng will make it because he has matured along the years.



From joining the Usher Ministry to helping the CG as an active helper, Jiasheng has always avail himself and volunteer to help in many areas (big or small). Not forgetting that he will always buy drinks for me for almost every cell group meetings and even outings.



Looking forward to see him grow even more in 2008!



3) Yvonne aka Orca Woo PEIWEN

She is still the lamest (or most random in her words) person I ever known. And she got this weird fetish for my chinese name which until now I do not understand why. (Stop influencing the members to write only my chinese name in the tithing envelope!!! >___<)



Well, we knew each other for quite a long time now, and had many ups and downs. Definitely many things changed along the way but I am glad she is still part of my life and a great blessing to me as well. :D



Of cos there are many things in her life I still frown upon but I have learnt to accept her for who she is by now. I know that God has a plan for her, and in due time she will begin to accept her calling and purpose, and by then she will have no choice but to change for the better!!



4) Huiyun aka Japfone or KELLY..hahahhahhhahaha

She is the one who is there for me when I needed help with the CG especially in 2006. I greatly appreciate it as I will have an even tougher time if not for her.



She is a great friend to have once you get to really know her. I enjoyed our photo trips together and all the times when we just hang out and laugh at nonsense things.

I greatly miss those times man... :(



I hope to see major breakthroughs in her life in 2008. :) Jia you!!!



5) Joachim (or self-proclaimed Wolverine...erm..I think Mickey Mouse more suitable la..hahaha)

He is a very lovable boy right from the start I met him. And his laughter is very contagious.

He is very talented in many ways but sometimes failed to see that (or sometimes too bhb.haha)

Overall he is quite well behaved (infront of me) but I do feel that he is not maximising his potential.

Recently I was pleasantly surprised he still remember one of the visions that he used to share with me quite a long time ago. I thought that is well buried underground (by himself) but apparently it is not!! In fact I always believe when God gives you a vision, He won't take it back.



I hope in 2008 he will prove to no one else but God that he is really serious about the calling that God has placed in his hands. Don't let 2008 just pass you by Jo! :)

What is Beauty?

Caution: Long Read and Few Pictures. Only for the intellectuals. HA HA HA!

WHAT IS BEAUTY?

Dictionary.com defines beauty as this:
"the quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind, whether arising from sensory manifestations (as shape, color, sound, etc.), a meaningful design or pattern, or something else (as a personality in which high spiritual qualities are manifest)."

Let us take a look at some of the responses I got from various ones. Not all are good definitions but nevertheless, it gives me the idea how people viewed beauty in general.

One person feel that:
"beauty=Charisma= confidence=knowing who u r= LOVE YA SELF"

A few stated the obvious:
"beauty = good personality + good looks"
"beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder"

One dude was really honest:
"beauty=dark, thin, small and curvy" LOL

One bitter man said this:
"beauty... it used to be someone but now it's not? it used to be mine but someone stole it?"
...............................O______O
He even went further and said this:
"it used to be fine but it turned into some slime?"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!! *coughs*
Ok larh, I shouldn't laugh at other people's misery but I applaud my friend's creativity and honesty. *CLAPS*

A good and detailed answer I got is this:
"beauty.... it could be a breathtaking sunrise...a beautiful picture, a beautiful girl, not necessary visual. I consider real love itself beautiful. And also music or a well choreographed dance...
To me, beauty is whatever that tugs at my heart, or triggers an emotion of yearning or longing and a sense of admiration and awe."

Well said.

SO WHAT IS BEAUTY TO MICHELLE-ISM THEN?

I believe everyone is really beautiful inside.

The problem is that nowdays no one bothers to bring out the inner beauty that is within them, and no one bothers to know and see the inner beauty of others.

What everybody knows and sees, is the obvious physical beauty/appearance.

Don't get me wrong, I have no problems with people wanting to be beautiful on the outside.
In fact, if possible I will like to be more GORGEOUS on the outside by 1000 times more. (even though i am super gorgeous now, but you know that michelle-ism is never satisfied. hahahhaha!)

What I am afraid is that people are forgetting that beauty is not just on the outside, but inside as well. And they forget that inner beauty is always more beautiful and glorious than physical beauty, and chose to ignore the former.

What is inner beauty then?

A simple definition to me is that it is the story behind every single person.

You don't have to be a Mother Theresa to consider being beautiful on the inside.

Nor do you need to force yourself to do charity work or donate lots of money to various organizations to prove that you are beautiful inside (though it is still good to give)

Being beautiful on the inside is simply just being the person God wants you to be.

No pretense, not trying to be someone else, not trying to gain the approval from other people.

Everyone has a story. And in every story, there are many ups and downs.
It won't be interesting to read if everything is good and smooth sailing yar?

This is what makes a story beautiful... failures, tribulations, and eventual triumph over evil, overcoming all odds...

AND every story book desires to be read, desires to have great reviews and responses from the readers. But many times, people just ignore the content and just focus on the cover.

Not many will admit to it, but most people (myself included) will first be drawn to books that have a more colorful and beautiful cover. Likewise towards human beings.
Even the Bible says that men look at the outward appearance.

But what is the purpose of a book?
It is to be read right? *duh*
What's the point of being a book if people do not read you or appreciate the content?

Sure you may be popular, and many people will want to buy you because you look really good.
But your purpose is never fulfilled if no one actually bother to read what's inside you.

Similarly, as human beings, we all have a story to tell.
And I believe we have a desire to share... a desire to let others know the real person inside the outer shell... the good, the bad, the happy, the sad... everything...

More importantly we desire that there will be someone who will not only read the story of our lives, but will appreciate and enjoy the content of the story and say "wow, this is a great book!"

Isn't that great?

But the frustrating thing is that it's hard to find someone who will even take the time and effort to read the story of your life.
Sometimes, that includes even the ones that are the closest to you.

Actually all these years of my life, there is not one who truly understands and takes the time to know who I really am inside.
There are those who attempted a little, choosing to read only certain chapters and not getting the full story...
And there are those who just like to look at the cover, or at the most, the content page.
Many are contented just to have a nice book to put on the bookshelf but unwilling to sit down and take the time to read it.

I am not trying to say I am very good looking on the outside, but well i can safely say I am considered quite attractive to many guys *whistles* and while that is flattering and great, its annoying and sad when no one is bothered to know the story that I desire to share.

Why am I sharing all these things?
I am sharing because I feel that we are losing the ability to enjoy another person.
In fact, I feel many of us are losing the ability to even enjoy your own self!

AND ITS SAD, SO SAD... ITS A SAD SAD SITUATION... and ITS GETTING MORE AND MORE ABSURD... *winks*

Take for example, you see a beautiful sunset






For most people, the first response will be like "WOW!! It's so beautiful!!!"

But to me, sometimes it feels that it is something more than just a beautiful sight... you'll feel that it is almost speaking to you!
I am not sure how many of you who are reading this can understand what I am talking about, but for me, I do not just like to look at beautiful sceneries, I like to "feel" and relate to them.

Call me crazy... or melancholic... wadever... its a surreal and indescribable feeling...

One of my favorites is watching rain (not the korean singer larh!)... to stand and observe how it started, how it became bigger and bigger... and finally how it ended.





Wahh..michelle, why are you so gloomy?? NO.... I AM NOT!!!
In fact, its really a warm feeling inside... you gotta experience yourself to understand what the heck I am talking about.. haha.. =)

In case you think I am a sadistic fool, another favourite of mine is standing in the midst of a beautiful, colorful garden of bright flowers.
I love flowers, I love colors and I love the sun! Combine these 3 and you'll get a beautiful garden! (I am sure I will enjoy the Garden of Eden =))





Ask yourself this: if someone were to read your story, will it be an interesting read?
Or will it be dull and boring?
Do YOU yourself enjoy reading your own story??
Is your story original and unique (as what God has intended to be) or is your story just a copycat of another?

Another food for thought: Whose story have you read and understood?
For those who are attached or married, have you read your other half's story?
You have never loved a person, unless you love him/her as a whole.
(How about God's story aka the Bible? Have you really take time to read and appreciate the manifold wisdom of God? It's amazing I tell you!)

One day, I believe someone will read my story, to appreciate, to cherish and to love and finally to be co-writers of the sequels of my very exciting and wonderful journeys of life.
AWWWWWWWWWWWW *grins* (i am soooooo romantic man! hahhahaha!)

And I believe those of you who have patiently read until here... your story will be read and appreciated by others too!
So start living out your story now!
Don't just be focus on building the cover cos it is NOT that interesting in the end! (I mean .....how interesting can a cover be right???)

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!

It's my year once again. The Year of the PIGS!!!

muahaha... can you feel the excitement of oinkers like me?

the next time i am going to celebrate my year again will be the time I am going to be 36 years old.

can you imagine it? 36 freaking years old!!! I must be married with 2 kids by then man!!!
Hence, that will be my resolution for the next 12 years.

Anyway since it is my year once again (and turning 24 years this year), I must totally try out some new stuff as much as I can while I am still young.
And also I NEED to resurrect my old past funky style... i am getting more and more boring and dull as the years go by.... I BIND THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *Sings Justin Timberlake Sexyback.. but changed to Crazyback.

So I decided to get out of my comfort zone (that is... my lovely home) and to go to a so called happening clubbing place. I suggested St James Powerstation at first as there are live bands there which I am more keen rather than dancing.
But sadly I was 'cheated' to go to Zouk instead and it was a traumatic experience for me MAN!

My final conclusion:
I HAVE NO IDEA WHY YOUNGSTERS OR HUMAN BEINGS ENJOY GOING CLUBBING.

A few reasons why I HATE the experience

1. SUPER CROWDED
- Basically i cant even stand till. Every second I will be bumped by people walking here and there. You dun even have much room to stand. What more dance???
The mysteries of the human mind...hmmm... sorry I like to have SPACE.

2. SUPER SUFFOCATING
- I hate the smell of smoke. I spent 99% of the time complaining to my very apologetic friend about the smell all around... that sticks to my clothes too :(

3. LOUD BASSY MUSIC
- The sound system was surprising lousy in my opinion. Though the music may be fine, the quality is not.

4. LOUSY DANCING
- Oh man, its pain sore to my eyes man... quite funny if you are into that sort.

In the end, dainty me managed to persuade my friends to leave the place in less than 2 hours.
I considered 2 hours (plus $20) of my life wasted. -________-
At the same time I looked at all these young people at the club and in my heart I feel a lot.... smoking away, behaving lewdly, trying to be someone they are not ... living an utterly meaningless life.

They need God and I pray that God can use me to be a better leader to the young people, to influence them to make the right decisions in life.
In fact I know of many Christians that chose to leave church for this kind of life and I really cannot figure that out. Why will anyone do that if they have tasted the goodness of God?
Why will they exchange their purpose and destiny to live a lowly meaningless life?

Dun get me wrong. I am not against music or dancing. In fact, I enjoy and appreciate music and dance a lot!
Its the worldliness and self-centredness that plagued these young people that troubled me.
That's why Pastor Kong's msg on Cultural Mandate is so important.
We really need to bring Christ into Culture and to be a louder voice than the corrupted world.

I know one thing for sure, you can't pay me to go back there again. Not even for birthdays or special occasions.
I will only go if you have booked the entire place, make sure is 100% no smoking, and i get to choose the songs. lol.
I simply hate crowded places. I simply hate smoke. Combine these 2 and you get the ultimate man!

Many of my friends (of my generation) will agree with me that secondary school days are the most happening and fun time.

Me and clarence then proceed to pretend to mourn and cry.

I cant stop laughing, therefore I chose the easy way out by posing like that. So LOUSY man... I must improve in this area and be like Clarence, who acted so well (see 2nd pic)
